Archie Horror

While only making its debut at the end of 2013, Afterlife With Archie shocked, wowed, and captivated comic readers so much it lead to both issues being sold out and landed on many “Best of 2013” lists. Here’s our official round-up of all the end-of-the-year accolades the series has received so far:

–Bleeding Cool chose Afterlife as #1 of their 11 Best Comics of 2013, stating that, “this comic surprised everyone who came across it. For the better.”
–The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog includes Afterlife in their list of the Top Comics of 2013, calling it “one of the best comics of the year.”
– Nerdist included it in their 10 Best Comics of 2013, saying that “Afterlife with Archie isn’t just one of the best zombie books out there, it’s one of the best books of the year.”
– iFanboy’s All-Media Year End Round-Up podcast spotlights Afterlife, calling it “Astounding in many ways” and “a wonderful looking book”
–LGBT site The Advocate included it in their list of The Year’s Top 10 LGBT Moments in Comic Books, stating that “this book gives plenty for both horror and gay comic fans to enjoy.”
–Comic Book Resources’ listed it as one of their Top 50 Comics of 2013, calling it “the biggest surprise must-read series of 2013.”
–Comixology featured it as one of their picks for the Best New Series of 2013.
–Salon gave it a special nod in their list of the 10 Best Superhero Comics of 2013, stating that “If this were a list of the best comics of the year rather than the best superhero comics, I’d probably put “Afterlife with Archie” at the top.”
–Bloody Disgusting listed it as #5 in their list of the Best Comics of 2013, saying that “if you haven’t tried it yet, you’re doing comics wrong.”
–Afterlife With Archie creative team Francesco Francavilla and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa were also included in Den of Geek’s list of 101 Creators to Watch In 2014.

Additionally, Afterlife has also been nominated in two categories for the annual Diamond Gem Awards 2013, Best Comic Book of the Year Under – $3.00 and Best New Comic Book Series.
